Volunteering (Student Placements): Shakti 
offers
two student placements during the year.
One placement is designed for Social Work, Community Care and Community Education
students.
During the placement the student will work closely with one of Shakti’s
case workers and where appropriate with the children’s workers, the placements
are another way in which we provide learning opportunities for those who wish
to develop their skills and confidence when working with Black/minority ethnic
women and children. The duration of a placement can vary between three and six
months.
The second type of placement is designed for High Schools (4th,5th and 6th years Pupils). During the placement the student will work closely with one of Shakti’s administrative workers and at times the children's workers, helping with a range of administrative duties as well as helping run children's activity sessions. The duration of this placement can vary between one and two weeks.
