What is a refuge and where can I find one?
A refuge is a safe house for women, (with or without children). Any black minority ethnic woman who is experiencing domestic abuse can have access to Shakti’s refuge. Our refuge consists of four self contained flats with a shared space for children’s room and an office. Residents do their own cooking, laundry and cleaning. Laundry and cleaning facilities are provided by Shakti Women’s Aid.
